Discover Hutchinson history through the work of local preservation group, Historic Hutchinson. This nonprofit group was organized in 1999 by Hutchinson Area Chamber of Commerce chairman Jim Fahey. Its mission: “to restore, to preserve, and to protect the living and structural history of the Hutchinson area and to showcase these assets now and for the future.”

Hutchinson has a rich and interesting recorded history that begins with its founding on Nov. 20, 1855, by the Hutchinson Brothers, a singing trio of abolitionists from New Hampshire.


Little Crow history uncovered

The McLeod County Museum recently found itself in the unique position of exhibiting two statues of Chief Little Crow.
